Individual psychological counselling is a safe space to carefully explore your difficulties, thoughts and feelings, to understand, how you came about to be where you are now, and to find where to go next.
I provide individual psychological counselling services for adults who face various life difficulties, difficulties adjusting to life changes, experience stress, anxiety and relationship problems. My profesional interest are psychological therapies for those thinking about suicide and their relatives, as well as those abusing alcohol or drugs and relatives troubled by the alcohol or drug use of their loved ones.
I have spent 4 years in studying and working Australia and returned to Lithuania in 2016. I speak fluent English and feel comfortable providing counselling in this language.
In 2016 I defended my PhD at the Australian Insititute for Suicide Research and Prevention, Griffith University. I spent 4 years there, researching impulsivity of suicide attempts, the suicidal process and stigma associated with suicidality.
In 2005-2011 I studied at Vilnius University and graduated with a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology.
Currently I work as a psychologist at the Vilnius City Mental Health Centre, Suicide Prevention Department. I am also a lecturer and researcher at the Vilnius University. From 2012 I spent four years in Australia and during my PhD I worked as a researcher at the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention. Before that, in 2009-2012, I worked as a psychologist at the Vilnius Addiction Treatment Center. I also was a volunteer and later supervisor at Child line.
I constantly attend training and seminars in psychology and psychotherapy. I am interested in psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural approaches, as well as specialised therapies to those who think about suicide. I am one of the ASIST instructors in Lithuania (https://www.livingworks.net).
